Original recipes “Tasty CBD Teas + Tips!” – Three Wells

One of my favorite moments is that cozy feeling you get when you sit down with a cup of my favorite tea. Here in Southern California, we might not get the chilling days or evenings that give an even cozier feeling but we can brew up something warm to get us in a cozy mood.

I love herbal teas, particularly because they typically don’t contain caffeine, making them a great “any time of day” drink. A quick Google search though will teach you that herbal teas technically aren’t tea at all! Tea, which is prepared by pouring warm water over Camellia sinesis leaves, has been around for centuries and comes in a wide array of varieties and flavors. The term “herbal tea” is actually just referring to drinks made from infusions of fruit or leaves, or other parts of plants (other than Camellia sinesis).

Now that we cleared up that common misconception, let’s dive into some of my favorite herbal “teas” and some of their health benefits! And some observations on creating CBD teas to fit our lifestyle.

1. Chamomile Tea

Need some help catching some zzz’s? Need something to help you relax? Give Chamomile tea a try. While Chamomile tea has been used by many generations as a home remedy for a wide range of issues, scientific studies are also showing promising results in its effectiveness in managing certain illnesses, including reducing menstrual cramps and reducing inflammation

Three Wells Tip: Want a little boost on the relaxation front? Add a few drops of Relax CBD Tincture by Humboldt Apothecary to your Chamomile Tea, and hello, relaxation.

2. Ginger Tea

Want to kick nausea to the curb? Ginger tea packs a spicy punch of antioxidants and is well known for being effective at relieving upset stomach, including those going through chemotherapy. Scientists aren’t exactly sure how it works, but experts believe that the compounds in ginger perform in a similar way to anti-nausea medications.

Three Wells Tip: Steep your herbal teas a bit longer than traditional tea—at least 10-15 minutes per cup.

3. Peppermint Tea

My personal favorite—who doesn’t love the flavor of peppermint? Digestive issues? Try peppermint tea. Want to boost your metabolism? Peppermint Tea. Looking for a tea with antioxidant, anticancer, and antiviral properties? Peppermint tea. We could write a whole blog on the benefits of Peppermint Tea, but we will just keep it simple. Peppermint tea is delish and can help with all kinds of minor health nuisances. If you need something to help with the headache you got from sitting on an all-day Zoom conference, try peppermint tea.

Three Wells Tip: Cover up that mug! When your tea is steeping, cover up your cup to ensure the essential oils in the tea don’t escape and stay in the mug to be infused into the water!

4. Lemon Balm Tea

If peppermint flavor isn’t your jam, don’t worry. Another tasty concoction with a list of health benefits is Lemon Balm Tea. This heavy hitter may improve heart and skin health, and can even aid in calming anxiety. If you had a particularly difficult social media exchange with grandma about social justice, try some of this tea to help ease your mind.

Three Wells Tip: Drink some lemon balm tea while soaking in the tub with some Coda CBD Bath Bombs—the best way to unwind at the end of a long day, working from home.

5. Echinacea Tea

Love immunity boosters? Echinacea is a must-have for folks looking for extra defense against the common cold. Once you feel that tickle at the back of your throat, or that tell-tale run in your nose, it’s time to drink some echinacea tea (and don’t forget your Kikoko Immune Support vitamins). Experts believe echinacea might reduce the length and severity of your symptoms, and can help boost your immune system against catching colds in the first place.

Three Wells Tip: Don’t skimp on the herb quality. You will get the most out of your dollar when the quality of the plant is better.

Remember CBD and Herbal Teas Go Together

Want to get the most out of your herbal tea experience? CBD tinctures can take that next cup to a new level! You will absorb all the great benefits of your tea, and marry it up with the relaxing properties of CBD. Use a flavored one, like our mint tinctures, to add more complexity to the taste. Whatever your taste is, herbal teas and CBD can make you feel great and put you in that cozy mood you’re looking for.
